We were responsible for implementing Maryland’s Climate Adaptation Plan. Maryland’s Plan was sector based, and facilitation of stakeholders in each sector was important to implementation and adoption of policies. We provided key climate information, best practices in adaptation and social equity, and outreach materials and staff training workshops to support implementation.

Outcomes included an analysis of social equity in Maryland’s Climate Action Plan and Adaptation Plans, and a range of policy updates that included climate change such as the state Hazard Mitigation Plan, State Development Plan, Shoreline Development Policy, Environmental Review Criteria and a range of outreach materials for parks staff, forest managers, and stormwater managers.
